New Volkwagen Transporter Cab ChassisOne of the most enduring parts of the Volkswagen Commercial sector - and indeed the Volkswagen brand as a whole - the Transporter is now in its sixth generation, and the new model has an extra trick up its sleeve.
Along with the Short and Long Wheelbase models, there's now a Chassis Cab version, with either a single or double cab.
With the Transporter a blank canvas for the owner to do as they please with it, it’s available with a drop-side body from the factory to hold things on the flatbed.
Something that isn’t lacking in the Transporter range is variety, and as a long wheelbase version, the Single and Double cabs has lots of space to work with and is capable of fitting in six people in the double cab version.
The flat bed option is able carry 1339kg in the back for the single cab, with five square metres of load area - even with the double cab model there's still an ample four square metre bay.
It also comes with all of the regular features that the enclosed Transporter has, such as the BlueMotion Technology set (Low rolling resistance tyres, regenerative braking and Start/Stop systems), Bluetooth connectivity and USB connection.
Also featured is the acclaimed Automatic Post-Collision Braking system, which applies the brakes if the vehicle crashes, reducing the risk and/or severity of a secondary incident.
With many options available, the base level Transporter Chassis Cab starts with the LWB Single Cab Startline 2.0 TDI, which has a six-speed manual and a 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Prices for the base begin at £21,265 exc. VAT.
