|Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is set to extend production of its Caddy Black Edition due to unprecedented customer demand.
The striking new model has been on sale since 1 October 2014 and will now continue until 31 March 2015.
|The Caddy Black comes with deep, distinct black pearlescent paint complete with the striking looks of the Highline specification. Including body coloured bumpers, fog lights, rear parking sensors, climatic air condition, cruise control and Bluetooth phone connectivity with trip computer and multi-functional display.
Billed as the “most luxurious Caddy ever built" thanks in no small part to a list of luxurious extras including swanky black leather upholstery and a leather strapped, multi-functional steering wheel. 17-inch Special Edition ‘Budapest’ alloy wheels, polished silver roof rails and a chrome plate grille continue the exclusive feel of the Caddy Black.
Under the bonnet Volkswagen has also made some adjustments; Dynamic Suspension has been added, reducing the ride height by 27mm which allows for a Sportier look and snappier handling.
Exclusive to this model will be a four-cylinder, 1.6-litre TDI engine developing 100 BHP and 250Nm of torque. The Caddy Black also benefits from BlueMotion technology which includes hill hold assist, energy recuperation and a start/stop system.
These features help produce a fuel economy that comes in at a frugal 55.4 MPG (combined) with CO2 emissions of just 134g/km. The Black Edition is still just as hardworking as any other Caddy, with load volume figures of 3.2cu metres making it is amongst the biggest in its class.

The Caddy Black Edition boasts striking Deep Black Pearlescent paint, unique black and polished 17-inch alloy wheels and silver roof rails and radiator grille surround. Drivers also benefit from a multi-functional steering wheel, leather gear knob and gaiter, heated wing mirrors and electric windows as standard.
Available in short-wheelbase panel van form only, the Caddy Black Edition is powered by a frugal 1.6-litre TDI common rail direct injection engine that develops 102PS and 250Nm of torque, and is offered with a five-speed manual transmission. BlueMotion Technology means drivers can expect fuel economy of 55.4mpg (combined) and low CO2 emissions of just 134g/km.
To give the Black Edition a sportier appearance and improved handling, the Dynamic Suspension reduces the ride height by 27mm. Inside, the seats are trimmed in leather and Alcantara, while the cabin is separated from the load cube by a full-height solid bulkhead.
