The Volkswagen Crafter has been a dependable commercial vehicle since its introduction to the range in 2006, and VW has now released details of its third generation Crafter.
This new version has been designed with the thoughts of couriers, construction workers and long distance drivers in mind. With innovative options and practical solutions across the board though, the new Crafter can be useful in many sectors.
To help drive this new model is the all-new EU 6 range of engines, which have been built to be long-lasting and low maintenance so you can stay on the road as much as possible.
As practicality goes, the new Crafter has been designed to be the perfect companion possible in any guise. Devised to be as spacious inside as possible without compromising on the exterior body size, your Crafter stays manoeuvrable with any payload on-board.
To make the Crafter even more enticing, the engines on offer come in 102PS, 122PS, 140PS and bi-turbo 177PS TDI forms, with all variants coming with either the automatic or manual gearbox. Depending on the combination of engine and gearbox, your Crafter will come with a front-wheel, rear-wheel or 4MOTION all-wheel drive system. In combination with the three body types, you can have any configuration to suit your need, such as combining the largest body type with the most powerful engine.
This Crafter has high standards of safety as well, with the electro-mechanical steering system – which is a first-time feature in this vehicle class – helping to provide ESP with trailer assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, post-collision braking system and trailer manoeuvring assist are all available to be fitted.
