Latest Volkswagen Passat Alltrack revealed
Volkswagen have recently revealed the latest generation of the Passat Alltrack at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Based on the standard Passat Estate, the new model is a rugged version with a raised ride height and four-wheel drive as standard to maintain performance and efficiency when travelling along the road less travelled.
The exterior of the Alltrack proves to be a vast improvement on the previous Passat, and improved functionality with a much stronger body is key with the new model. Fitted with tough plastic mouldings to the front and rear bumpers, side sills, strong wheel arches, and the addition of silver roof rails.
A variety of high standard gear can be found within the interior, including a revised infotainment system that can offer Bluetooth, sat-nav and a better integration between phone and car.
Towing is a strong point for the Alltrack, it provides traffic jam assist that can identify and replicate the speed of the vehicle in front to help with slow-moving traffic, and trailer assist which guides and offers support with any difficulties that may arise when towing.
With the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack, buyers get the choice of two petrol engines and three diesels. The turbocharged petrol models can be selected from 148bhp and 217bhp versions, provided by a six-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
The three diesel options are available at 148, 187 and 237bhp, delivered by an automatic gearbox only for higher output models. Lower output models are available with a six-speed manual gearbox.
The Volkswagen Alltrack is set to go on sale around September 2015.
