VW Golf Supersport

Volkswagen has taken to the digital race track once again, supplying another stunning car for the Vision Gran Turismo programme in the form of the sensational GTI Supersport.

Following in the footsteps of the Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo, the GTI Supersport is armed with a 503bhp VR6 TSI powertrain, with power sent through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) and onto the tarmac via all four wheels thanks to VW’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.

The GTI Supersport will be available exclusively on the Playstation 3’s Gran Turismo 6 and takes on a form of traditional GTI sportiness and contemporary racing design, and it is that racing edge both on the surface and underneath that gives the virtual supercar the ability to sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.6sec on its way to a 186mph top speed.

To give the GTI Supersport the stature it deserves, the car runs on huge 20-inch alloys, while its proportions and body surfaces have all been optimised to punch through air as efficiently as possible, as well as give it a low centre of gravity. Meanwhile, widespread use of carbonfibre ensures the GTI Supersport is a true lightweight and its handling capabilities benefit highly as a result.

Elements that aid the GTI Supersport achieve its agility and ability include vertical light modules, sizeable air intakes, ample brake ventilation, an extravagant roof-edge spoiler and rear diffuser arrangement.

In regards to giving your Volkswagen GTI Supersport a dash of colour, there are four glorious paint jobs to choose from, including ‘Reflex Silver’, ‘Gran Turismo Red’, ‘Lapiz Blue’ and ‘Onyx White’.

Players hoping to attempt to tame the Supersport will be glad to know the car is available for download immediately and you can start blasting it around one of Gran Turismo’s 37 tracks today.
