The Tiguan already has a reputation of being one of Volkswagen’s safest and most secure models, and now the newest version has been given the full approval by Euro NCAP.
EuroNCAP’s five-star rating for the new version of the SUV is well deserved, as not only are the driver and passengers safer in the new model but pedestrians are too. Volkswagen’s driver assistance systems have also helped to give the Tiguan a better rating than before.
Following the introduction of more stringent guidelines by EuroNCAP, the Tiguan was able to pass the new testing process with an overall rating of 96 per cent for adult occupant safety, 84 per cent for child safety and 72 per cent pedestrian safety, making it one of the safest vehicles on the continent.
The range of safety equipment on the Tiguan include the Front Assist emergency braking system, Lane Assist function to make sure you stay in the right place and an ‘active bonnet’, which was purposefully designed to help reduce dangerous head injuries.
With a full set of airbags, safety-optimised headrests, Post-Collision Braking System and ABS with brake assistant, the Tiguan has been designed with safety in mind.
