The New VW up!During a successful first generation since its release in 2011, the up! has been one of Volkswagen's best sellers and is consistently rated as the best city car currently available.
After the success of the first incarnation, a second generation of up! has been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, before it goes on sale this summer.
There is now even more to choose from in the new up! range, including a new trim level, seven new colours and additional equipment, with some previous paid-for equipment becoming standard fit.
With the up! being so highly rated, improving on it is no easy task. Many elements that made the up! a success have been refined rather than replaced, so what were already great features become even better. The surprisingly spacious interior is even more roomy, the stylish exterior benefits from subtle changes to the panels and the new range of engines can get you up to 500 miles between stops at the pump.
Instead of just two multi-point injection engines on offer from the last model, there is a new 1.0 TSI turbo petrol, which is the most powerful engine in the range. Also available is the electric-powered e-up! and the natural gas-powered eco up!.
A new trim level on the range is the new up! beats, which integrates BeatsAudio with a 300-watt stereo system. Also included are trim extras such as mirror caps and colour-coordinated seat belts, while smartphone integration, which you connect to with the Volkswagen app, is standard among the whole range.
