Volkswagen's distinctive small coupe is already visually appealing, but the addition of two new specifications for 2016 adds a little extra to the mix.
The Black Edition models come as new trim variants on the Scirocco GT and Scirocco R-Line models.
These two special editions subtly update the Scirocco's exterior looks, with both cars gaining black painted alloy wheels, a black painted contrast roof, door mirrors and rear spoiler, and 90% tinted rear windows. The GT Black Edition's wheels are 18-inch Lisbon alloys, while the R-Line Black Edition gets 19-inch Lugano items.
The Scirocco range already has a high level of standard specification, including a 6.5-inch colour touch-screen, Bluetooth and USB connection, DAB digital radio receiver, SD card reader, air conditioning, automatic headlights and wipers and height-adjustable sports seats.
GT models add dynamic Discover Navigation with European maps, 2 zone climate control, front fog lights, front and rear parking sensors, aluminium-look pedals and cloth and part Alcantara-trimmed upholstery. R-Line cars have R-Line-specific bumpers, side skirts, scuff plates, steering wheel and handbrake gaiter and gear leaver, with carbon-look dash inserts and heated, electrically adjustable ‘Vienna’ leather sports seats.
Both Black Edition models are available with any engine that can be fitted to the GT and R-Line cars. The petrol options are the 1.4-litre 125PS or 2-litre 180PS unit while the two diesel engines produce either 150PS or 184PS and are both 2-litre capacity. Six-speed manual is standard, with a six-speed DSG optional on all but the 1.4 petrol.
The Black Edition Scirocco is priced from £23,135 and available now. For more information on the Scirocco, please click https://www.inchcape-volkswagen.co.uk/cars/volkswagen-range/scirocco/
